Following a fiercely successful inaugural tournament last year, we are now gearing up for this year's Spades for Justice! Combining a shared love for the game of Spades with a philanthropic spirit, this year's tournament will again be a fundraiser for the women's basketball team at Grambling State University.

Grambling State women's basketball team head coach Courtney Simmons will be in attendance, and she wanted to pass along some anticipatory words of thanks:

"In a time when inclusion and representation carry so much weight, it is a true honor to be a part of the Shades of Mass conference. I strive to be a present example for the young women in my program that success is possible no matter what that looks like for each of them individually. So, any chance I get to share my goals and dreams for Grambling State Women’s Basketball, I do so with a sense of pride and responsibility.

2024 Spades for Justice will take place Saturday, September 21, at 8:30pm in the Presidential Suite at the Marriot Marquis Houston during the Shades of Mass conference.

  We can only accept 16 Spades players, so fill out this survey asap if you are interested in playing! A lottery will be drawn on September 10, and you will be notified if you've been selected to be one of our 16 players. Players are required to give a minimum donation of $50 to Grambling State University as their buy-in.

Space is limited in the Presidential Suite, so spectators will be admitted on a first-come-first-served basis. And while there is no set admission cost for spectators, donations to the Grambling State University women's basketball team are strongly encouraged.
